Custody signed over to aunt, Daisie Anna May Stafford Fritz December 13, 1901, by her mother, Minnie Stafford. Daisie and Frank Fritz may have formally adopted Mildred later. She is listed as "daughter" on two of Frank's obituaries.

Information sent to T.Mason on 3/18/2010 from Julie Gibbs. "I purchased a home in Tacoma, WA in February of this year. A rock in a pile of rubble caught my eye. Once we cleared it off it was appearent it was an old head stone. We cleaned it up and it reads:

DIED
SEPT 18, 1888
AGED 5y 3m 2dI did quite a bit of research and found that she has a plot at the old cemetery in Aberdeen, WA. I am very inquisitive as to how her head stone got in my back yard."
