He was elected County Judge and served in that capacity continuously with the exception of two year, 1861 and 1863, when he was Mayor of Fayette, until his death. He was a member of the Christian Church, a good and trustworth citizen, held in highest esteem by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held in the Christian Church, burial in the city cemetery."
