Ref: Letter from Hazel Mason Boyd quoting research notes from Mr. L.M. Pearce of San Antonio, Tx. Mr. Pearce indicates that this James R. Mason is buried in "Toleda Settlement" about five miles from Punta Gorda, British Honduras, Central America.

Ref: Letter from L.M.Pearce in 1973. file - Col. James Mason indicates that John and two brother (Adam & Conrad) settled in Lincoln Co., Ky. and built Carpenter's Station as protection from the Indians. He also says that unconfirmed and unpublished data in DAR library, Washington, D.C. indicates that John, etc. were sons of George a french hugenot who left Rochelle, France.
