Elijah Farmer died from stroke say 18 November 1847 at Fannin County, Texas. He appeared on the tax rolls in 1805 at Grayson County, Virginia. He witnessed the property transfer of Archelaus Vaughn to Jesse Vaughn on 18 September 1805 at Grayson County. OBITUARY: Thursday Services Will Be Held for William D. Fenter Funeral services for William Duke Fenter, 68, have been scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Morse Community Church Rev. John Ballard will officiate. Fenter died Tuesday, March 11, at the Okfuskee Memorial hospital following a short illness. He was born December 21, 1889 at Davis, Oklahoma, before statehood. The deceased made his home at Morse with his sister, Mrs. Lula M. Rayner. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors, include one daughter Mrs. Lula Mae McClain; one son, Elmer Lee Fenter, both of Kansas City; and six sisters, Mrs, Lula M. Rayner of Morse, Mrs. Esther Combs of Lubbock, Texas, Mrs Jessie Crabtree of Drumright, Mrs Ora Wilson of St. James, Mo. Mrs, Ollie Birlew of Okmulgee, Mrs. Pearl Fuller, also of Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Clabourn Smithee, Walter Bynum, Coy Branscum,Wayne Root, Evertt Been, and Dillard Green. Burial will be in the Morse cemetery under the direction of Webb and Benson Funeral home.

He drives a tractor and tends his 80 acres with scarcely any outside aid. They have cattle, chickens and always raise a large garden. In Mr. Raynor's childhood he played the role of the outlaw Cole Younger, notorious badman, and even intimate friends seldom realize John's real name. They have boarded 32 different school teachers and always attended church and Sunday School. Advice for successful marriage - "You must give and take and work together to get along."

Mrs. Rayner bought for Mr. Rayner, an upright monument for $135 using it as a family stone with their three names on it.

Lula was born in Jacksboro, Texas and came to Oklahoma at age 8. First settled near Davis, then moved to present home in Morse in 1905. One daughter, Gertrude, continues to reside in the home.
Was Sheriff of Creek County, Oklahoma during Pretty Boy Floyd's era.
OBITUARY: Died Sunday morning in Tulsa hospital. Had lived in Tulsa 2 years. Born in Mason, TX and came to OK in 1891. First settled in Marlew. After his marriage, lived in Oklahoma Panhandle. Later moved to Shamrock in the oilfield boom days. Was first chief of police at Shamrock. In 1932 moved to Drumeright where he served as deputy sheriff of Creek county for several years (during Pretty Boy Floyd's era). During administration of late Gov. Ernest W. Marland, Mr. Crabtree was food relief administrator for Oklahoma. Retired 15 years ago and moved to Tulsa in 1953. Was a member of Drumright Baptist church and of the Odd Fellows lodge. Survivors include the widow, Jessie, of the home: four sons - H.L. Crabtree; Bud C. Crabtree; James T. Crabtree of Anchorage, Alaska; and Loyd C. Crabtree of San Francisco, CA.; two daughters - Mrs. Iva Payne, Drumright and Mrs. Lela Gilbert; two brothers - Date Crabtree of Drumright and Bud Crabtee, Cache; a sister - Mrs. Vera Beckwith of Wichita Falls, TX; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A separate article with the obituary indicates that ... about 1915 the family was living in Old Shamrock established in 1913 ... after the discovery of oil was moved to New Shamrock. Lloyd was first baby born in New Shamrock in 1916. In the early days, Ben's clothing as a lawman consisted of dark pants, a vest and white shirt and Stetson hat. The Crabtree children attended Drumright schools. Lela graduated in 1935 and worked for 15 years in the Citzens Bank. She married Lee Gilbert who is now retired from the US Engineers Corps. James is retired from construction work and lives in Tulsa. Lloyd is retired after 29 years with the San Francisco Fire department and lives in Concord, Calif. Harmie lives in Tulsa and is retired from Skelly Oil Co. Jess is the only family member to have stayed in Drumright. A brother Bud died in 1972.

OBITUARY: Mrs. Jessie Myrtle Crabtree, 83, of 801 North Ohio, was given funeral services Thursday at the Church of Christ on West Broadway. E.A. Bright, former local minister now serving Oilton Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Shamrock cemetery beside her husband, Ben, who died about 12 year ago. Mrs. Crabtree died Tuesday, Nov 5 in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lee Gilbert, in Tulsa. Mrs. Crabtree had been making her home with her daughter the past year. She had been in poor health the past several years. She was born in Jacksboro, TX. March 5, 1885 and moved to Drumright from Shamrock in 1931. Survivors are four sons and two daughters, two sisters, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Sons are H.L. Crabtree of Grove, Bud Crabtree of Tulsa, James Crabtree of Pomona, Calif and Loyd Crabtree of San Francisco, Calif. Daughters are Mrs. J.E. Payne of Drumright and Mrs. Lee Gilbert of Tulsa. Sisters are: Mrs. Len (Ora) Wilson of St. James, MO and Mrs. Charley (Ollie) Birlew of Okmulgee.
