Mason (filed - Levi Borden); NOTES: Arkansas Gazette Newspaper article Sep 22, 1922 "Three of Arkansas' Best Known and Oldest Families" says she was born in Athens, Alabama, came to Little Rock in 1850 to make her home with her sister, Mrs E H English whose husband was later a judge in the supreme court. Mrs Zimmerman attended the private school of Miss Lizzie Wood... She married William W. Reyburn, second son of the late Samuel W. Reyburn and a brother of Mrs. John Peay. "Billy", as he was familiarly known, died a few years after. His widow married J V Zimmerman, who was a captain in the Southern army and afterward a prominent business man of this city.
BIOGRAPHY: Family History Records; ; compiled by Frank Gibson Thibault Jr, [thibault@obgyn.net] ; dated 19 Apr 1992 sent to T Mason; NOTES: Cuz Sam Reyburn told Uncle Will was an enthusiastic vigorous and active man, in the outdoors a great deal. In the early days I understand he cut barrel staves and shipped them to France. He became owner of a sawmill at Pine Bluff. The mill burned and he had no insurance. It made a great fire. Someone awakened him at his home near the sawmill. He went to his window, so the story goes, and saw that the fire had progressed to where the whole plant was aflame. He looked at it a few minutes then said " well let her rip" and went back to bed, though practically his whole fortune was being wiped out.

Mason (filed - Levi Borden); NOTES: Arkansas Gazette Newspaper article Sep 22, 1922 "Three of Arkansas' Best Known and Oldest Families" says born at Magnet Grove, Hot Springs co in 1840. Was the third daughter of late Samuel W. Reyburn. Her mother died, leaving five daughters and two sons, when she was 9. She, with her little sisters, was sent with a nurse to board in Little Rock and attend school. Married John C. Peay in 1860 in Pine Bluff and went to Napoleon, AR to live. At outbreak of war went south as a refugee for two years. Afterwards lived in LR, and is a natural born home maker.
Married woman from Conway and had farm near Fayetteville raised apples had no children.
Had mental probs was in the state hospital at one time did not marry. No descendents.
Was in the army, with FGT, Sr, in Panama. After WW2 became Episcopal minister in Washington, DC they have son and daughter but don't know names.
