Corrie Sue Wilkins

Source:  (1)  Eula Land Wilkins.  Sue graduated from Tallulah High School, Tallulah, LA.  She received a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics from LA Tech, Ruston, LA.  She taught school at Delhi, LA, Garland TX, and in Winnsboro, TX where she was living at the time of her death.  She died from an aneurysm and is buried in Lee Cemetery, Winnsboro, TX.
  (2)  Church records, First United Methodist Church, Tallulah, LA.  She was baptized by Rev. John F. Kilpatrick.
  (3)  Personal knowledge.  At her death, monetary memorials were given in her memory to help pay for a church piano.  Sue was teaching in the Como/Pickton school at time of death.  She was "Maid of Honor" at the wedding of Sally Jo Foster.


John Littleberry Land

Source: (1) 1910 U.S. census, Richland Parish LA, (Police Jury Ward 1) S.D. 2, E.D. 113, enumerated by L.J. Trezevant.  Listed with parents, aged 6 yrs.
  (2)  1920 U.S. census, Richland Parish LA. Listed with mother and siblings.
  (3)  Personal knowledge: Johnny Land operated several different types of businesses prior to becoming a trucker.  He and Edna owned a grocery store in Tallulah and later one at Quebec, LA.  At one time, he and his first cousin, J. B. Watts, had a restaurant near the railroad depot in Tallulah.  It was later called the Bobby Lou Cafe. A photograph of him and J. B. in front of the cafe is in personal records.  He owned 18 wheel trucks with "pig wagons" in which he hauled livestock.  He died from heart failure in Delhi, LA hospital.

Mattie Edna Newton

  (2)  Personal knowledge.  She was a lifelong, dedicated member of the Baptist Church. No issue.

Alberta Land

(2) Personal knowledge: Alberta and Johnny Stocks owned an Esso Station in Tallulah for may years.  On his "retirement" from the service station, they purchased a radio and television repair shop.  Alberta attended LA Tech College, Ruston, LA.  She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Tallulah, LA.  She was also a fine cook and homemaker.


Charles Pierce Pollard

SOURCE:  Floree Land Pollard.  Charlie worked as a book-keeper and insurance salesman. He was blind in one eye so did not serve in the military with his comtemporaries. He died at the burn center in Greenville, MS from burns and a stroke.
