Notes

John Stone

RESEARCHER: Information sent to T.Mason by Sylvia Akin [SylviaSA@aol.com] on 21 Apr 2003. "Arkansas land records show that John Stone bought 800 acres in Jefferson County, Arkansas(1) over a period of from 1837-1838. John died sometime before the spring of 1841 as Malinda was made administrator of his estate (2) on March 21 of that year, John having died Intestate. After John's death, Malinda returned to Marshall County, Mississippi, buying land there in January of 1842. Malinda's property was located in T5 R2W S27, situated between the communities of Waterford and Bethlehem.

Marshall County estate records of John Stone state, "John Stone formerly of this county", but I can find no record of him every having lived here. (Source: Estate of John Stone, deceased; File box 694, Marshall County Courthouse, Holly Springs, Mississippi.)
