DESCENDANTS: Records provided to T.Mason by Jo-Anne (Yates) Nasser on 13 Apr 2001. EXTRACT: Was of Boston as early as 20 Nov 1637. He was a Quaker and one of twelve purchasers of the tract of land called Shawomet (Warwick) R.I. He had a grant of land in Portsmouth, RI in 1643, and in that same year he was taken with others before the court at Boston and charged with heresy and sedition. He was later banished from both Massachusetts and Warwick. He returned to Portsmouth, was a freeman in 1655; later was commissioner and for many years between 1664 and 1686 was deputy. Belonged to the General Assembly in 1667.
