Blanche Hellen Babbitt

She always played school and taught the other brothers and sisters. She attended College of Idaho, and Mills College. She lived at home and helped out her mother until she went to Fairbanks, AK to teach at the University there. She taught languages. They retired to grandma's old house on N. 10th St. in Boise, ID. Blanch was very active at the Methodist church and made many items for the church bazaars, played bridge and kept very busy.

Blanche Babbitt Wagner, 81 of 711 N. 10th St., Boise, died Friday June 2, 1989, in a Boise hospital.
Grave side services will be held at Abbey View Cemetery, Seattle. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Boise at the First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Wagner, a retired foreign language teacher for the Caldwell and Boise school districts, was born June 24, 1907 at Atlanta, Neb., daughter of Cecil and Nellie Babbitt. She grew up in Nebraska, and moved to Boise in 1824 where she graduated from Boise High School in 1926. She attended the College of Idaho in Caldwell, and was a member of the Muratella sorority. She earned her master's degree in foreign languages from Mills College at Oakland, Calif. She had retired from both the Boise and Alaska school systems. She married Fred Wagner in 1848 at Seattle. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and the Retired Teachers associations in both Boise and Alaska.
Survivors include her husband, Fred of Boise, a brother, Clayton Babbitt of Banning, Calif., and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Babbitt Penson of Seattle and Mrs. Mildred Babbitt Jurries of Portland, Ore. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Babbitt. The family suggests that memorials be made to the First United methodist Church, 11th and Franklin Street, Boise, 83702. Friends may call today from ? a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Alden Wagoner Chapel in Boise.
